Patty, this is the post I was talking to you about yesterday (and could not get off the tip of my tongue). The correlations you make are terrific and thought provoking. I love your opinions on the subject.

Thank you for all your comments. I really appreciate it- and your clarifications. My writings generally are just my opinion; i'm not the researcher you want but i think you could be. Go for it! Thanks again for commenting. Take care...

First off all I am neither pro-choice or pro-life. For me, I would not have an abortion. But under my God it is not up to me to judge those who may make that choice. I don't walk in their shoes.

I am only commenting on some of your miss information, althought there is quite a bit. The first being, abortion "is not" a Constitutional Right. The Court decided that a "right to privacy" under the due process clause in the Fourteenth Amendment extends to a woman's decision to have an abortion, but that right must be balanced against the state's two legitimate interests for regulating abortions: protecting prenatal life and protecting the mother's health. The privacy is the right, not the abortion. (source: Jane Roe, et al. v. Henry Wade, District Attorney of Dallas County. Citations 410 U.S. 113; 93 S. Ct. 705; 35 L. Ed. 2d 147)

Now, the "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." under the Second Ammended of the Constitution should hold the same respect for the right to privacy. You shouldn't pick a chose. Regardless of your personal opinion, either you abide by the constitution in its entirety or you don't. If you want other's to respect and not take away the woman's right to privacy then you too must show the same respect and maintain the individuals right to keep and bear arms.

Second. Your comment on Lack of food due to overpopulation. This is so incorrect. The world produces enough food to feed everyone. World agriculture produces 17 percent more calories per person today than it did 30 years ago, despite a 70 percent population increase. The principal problem is that many people in the world do not have sufficient land to grow, or income to purchase, enough food. Poverty is the principal cause of hunger, not overpopulation. (source: World Health Organization)

Most of the undeveloped countries who have the poorest people abortion is illegal. Most of the people who have abortions are not living in poverty. All the developed countries allow abortion on request, including the US.

I wonder why this argument is still being debated in this country with really the same talking points by some on the right and some on the left. Which most of your article is, talking points. The majority of the people in this country believe and standby the woman's right to chose, so the chance of it ever being overturned is slim to none. Most believe their are far more important issue in this country to contend with.

I do also find it somewhat humorist that individuals believe that their point of view is the right view (on both sides) and the other side is just plain ignorant. Fortunately in this country we do have a Constitution that gives us the freedoms to voice our views. Unfortunately it left out, without condemning others for their views.

I don't agree in most of what you state here, only because its basically the same debate with really not much statistical evidence to back up most of your points. Any more than I agree with the other sides debate on this issue. Talking points with no research and never any sourcing their information. Not to mention always lumping everyone into one group. ie if your a Tea Party person you must believe be clones of Palin & Huckabee do. Or if you're a Liberal you all must believe clones of Obama and Ted Kennedy.

Fortunately for the majority of us whether we vote Rep or Dem, we are independent thinkers. It would be a boring country if we were all clones!!

I'd like to see an article where someone actually gets their hands dirty and do some actual research. Today that doesn't seem to be the case. The material is available at our archives, libraries, universities etc.
Your basically a good writer so maybe someday I will see an article from you that actually shows that you have done your homework and not copied the same unsourced material as so many do from the Left and Right.
